Responsibilities
- Provide accurate chart preparation for all upcoming office visits, Hospital Follow-Up visits and New Patient visits.
- Process requests for records from Physician offices
- Responsible for overall maintenance of patientís charts and medical records.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Protects the integrity of PHI and validates timely and accurate transfer/entry of patientís clinical information between electronic and manual data systems.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
- Accurate transfer of patient medical record information from pre-existing electronic medical record (EMR) to new EMR system.
- Accurately add patient medical record information into the discrete data points.
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material. Understanding of HIPAA and PHI requirements.
- One (1) year of experience with Electronic Medical Record system(s)
- Good command of the English language. Effective communication skills (oral and written.)

- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and EMR systems required.

- Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness.
- Ability to work remotely effectively.
- Typing skills of at least 40 wpm
Screening Criteria
- One (1) year of experience working in a clinical setting.
- One (1) year of experience working as a medical/healthcare virtual assistant
- One (1) year of experience using Electronic Medical Records and/or medical practice management systems.
- Proficient with medical terminology
- Proficient in MS office suite
- Proficient in organizing clinical information in an EMR.
