Responsibilities

Complete a detailed insurance verification for new patients and then once a year. Verify active coverage and update annual maximum/deductible info for every visit.
Retrieve benefits coverage summary and benefits usage history from insurance company either via internet portal, fax back or by phone and scan a copy of the information received from insurance into the patient’s insurance module.
Complete the internal insurance verification form ensuring that any special benefit coverage information is pulled.
Enter the insurance information pulled from the insurance company into Open Dental including as much detail as possible. Include any special notes relating to the patient’s plan in the notes box. Be sure to include the effective date for the insurance and update any usage information pertaining to the allowed amount and the deductible.
Update the allowed amount for the patient
Once insurance is verified, update the patient’s insurance plan with the date that it was verified.

Qualifications

Excellent in English both oral and written
With experience in Dental Billing/Medical Billing.
With Minimal experience in scheduling patients’ appointments.
Insurance verification experience is a plus.
Has a high level of attention to detail and holds the notion of confidentiality in the highest regard.
A problem-solver and team player.
Can work independently/ with minimal supervision.
Ability to work accurately and attend to details while responding to multiple work demands.
Ability and willingness to work with diverse staff and customers.
With basic to intermediate knowledge in Microsoft office suites
